FIRST NFT-EXHIBITION IN THE HERMITAGE

On November, 10 the Hermitage starts its new virtual project “The Ethereal Aether. An Exhibition of Digital Art”  (https://celestialhermitage.ru/en/).

The exhibition will include both existing works of well-known NFT-artists and pieces created specially for the Hermitage.

The goal of the exhibition will be not to just present works in the NFT format (“non-fungible token” = digital art) but also to reveal and explain the nature of NFT itself. The project will become the start of “Celestial Hermitage” – an ideal structure in the virtual sphere that in the future will function as a digital twin for the museum. The Celestial Hermitage’s purpose is to preserve, study and expand digital cultural heritage: metaobjects that originated in a digital reality.
